BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John J. Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that happened early Saturday morning.
At approximately 12:10 a.m. today, Bedford Police responded to Back River Road, between Meadowcrest Drive and Camp Road, for a report of a vehicle that went off the road and struck a tree.
Upon arrival, officers located a black 1998 Honda Accord that was off the side of the road. There were three occupants inside the vehicle. A 21-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died on-scene.
Another passenger, a 21-year-old man, suffered what are believed to be life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Elliot Hospital where he remains in critical condition this morning.
The driver, a 22-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Elliot Hospital.
The identities of the victims are being withheld at this time pending notification of their families.
The crash remains under active investigation by the Bedford Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
