Bedford Police Arrest Five for DWI in Just Over Two Days
BEDFORD — Chief John J. Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department arrested and charged five suspects with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) over the weekend.
The five separate incidents took place within the span of just over two days, from 12:05 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 to 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.
“This is an extraordinary level of activity for such a short period of time,” Chief Bryfonski said. “The Bedford Police Department does not take drunk driving lightly. Adults should always find a safe, sober ride home, or expect to be pulled over and charged if they choose to drive under the influence.”
On Friday, Oct. 28, just after midnight, Bedford Police conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of South River Road and River Way Place for erratic operation. Following an on-scene investigation, officers determined ROBIN HARRELL, AGE 59, OF CONCORD, N.H. was intoxicated and arrested her for DWI.
On Saturday, Oct. 29, just before 2 a.m., officers stopped ALEXANDRA FERGUSON, AGE 20, OF MILFORD, N.H. for various moving violations in the area of Route 101 and Pinecrest Drive. An investigation concluded that FERGUSON was allegedly intoxicated. Officers arrested and charged her with a DWI.
Then, at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, Bedford Police responded to the area of Liberty Hill Road and Highland Farms Road for a single vehicle rollover crash with injuries. The driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Upon further investigation, officers charged the driver, A 17-YEAR OLD MALE, OF BEDFORD, with DWI and Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time. Bedford Police are also investigating a report of an alleged underage party that occurred that night. Police believe the driver may have been coming from the party prior to the crash.
On Saturday, Oct. 29 at 4:45 p.m., Bedford Police responded to Circle K Irving Store, 4 Technology Drive, for reports of an unresponsive female in the driver seat of a car at the gas pumps. The driver, identified as REBECCA DRURY, AGE 28, OF MANCHESTER, N.H., was taken to a local hospital after officers determined she was highly intoxicated. DRURY was later arrested and charged with DWI. No booking photo is available at this time.
At 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, a police officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of South River Road and Route 101 for various moving violations. Following an investigation, officers determined the driver was intoxicated and subsequently arrested ERIC GOODHUE, AGE 34, OF MANCHESTER, N.H., for Aggravated DWI and DWI.
All five suspects were booked at the Bedford Police Department and released on personal recognizance pending their appearance in Merrimack District Court on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
