Bedford Police Respond to Serious Motor Vehicle Crash
BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department is investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that injured three and left two with life-threatening injuries.
Police, fire, and EMS responded to the area of 366 South River Road at 2:45 p.m. for a reported motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, first responders an expansive and very difficult scene. A preliminary investigation indicates that a sedan of indeterminate make or model, was proceeding at a high rate of speed when it struck a utility pole on South River Road. The vehicle then went airborne over a fence and landed in the front yard of a nearby home.
Three people were inside the vehicle. Two were ejected and sustained life-threatening injuries. The third passenger sustained serious injuries. All three were transported by ambulance to Eliot Hospital in Manchester.
South River Road is closed in the area and will remain closed until later Friday evening as police conduct an investigation and cleanup operations. Motorists are advised to use Technology Drive as a detour.
